We are talking about a December for the ages. The resort has officially logged 121 inches of snow in December alone. That pushes their season total to a massive 198 inches before the New Year even hits.
To put that in perspective: this breaks the year-to-date record and the December monthly record set back in the 1950-51 season. That’s right, we haven’t seen it pump like this in over 70 years! If you aren't stoked on that, check your pulse.

When Ullr delivers the goods, you open the playground. Thanks to this absolute deluge of white gold, Lake Louise opened their massive new terrain expansion, Richardson’s Ridge, way ahead of schedule.
This isn't just a rope drop on a cat track; we're talking 200 acres of fresh terrain. It includes five new runs (beginner and intermediate friendly, so the whole crew can send it), fresh glades for tree-skiing lovers, and a shiny new high-speed detachable quad called the Richardson’s Ridge Express.
The Rockies Are Winning Winter
Let's be real—a lot of North America has had a slow start this year. I've seen the webcams; it's been rocky in some spots. But the Canadian Rockies? They are in a league of their own right now.
Lake Louise is sitting pretty with 159 of 169 runs open and all lifts spinning. They aren't alone in the deep stuff, either. Revelstoke Mountain Resort (ShredIndex score: 67.1/100) is reporting a staggering 228 inches, and Kicking Horse is right there with 213 inches.
If you've been holding off on planning a trip because of the dry start elsewhere, you might want to pivot North. Seriously, find accommodation in Lake Louise and get up there while the base is bottomless.

The forecast is calling for things to dry out a bit as we head into 2026, with just a dusting expected through the weekend. But with a 68-inch base and cold temps locking everything in, the conditions are going to stay prime for a while.
