2. Snow Ridge (United States)

Powder Score: 61/100 | Forecast: 32.8cm

The East Coast is waking up! Snow Ridge in New York is sitting in the sweet spot for lake-effect snow this week. They are actually forecasted for more volume than our #1 pick—a whopping 32.8cm—but with slightly lower overall consistency scores. If you are in the Northeast, skip the Vermont crowds and head here for deep, low-angle glades. The mid-week refresh looks particularly promising.

3. Powder King (Canada)

Powder Score: 58/100 | Forecast: 24.2cm

Living up to its name, Powder King in British Columbia rounds out our podium. With 24.2cm on the radar, this is the most reliable bet for Western skiers. "PK" is legendary for its lack of lift lines and deep snow preservation. The storm cycle here looks consistent throughout the week, meaning free refills are likely on the menu from Monday through Thursday.

If you aren't hopping a flight to Greenland or driving to Upstate NY, there are still great pockets of snow to be found:

• Nova Scotia Surprise: Ski Cape Smokey is looking at a massive 36.2cm dump. Like the Greenland resorts, wind will be a factor here, but if the lifts spin, it could be the sleeper hit of the week.
• Colorado Quality: While the totals are lower, the quality will be high in Southern Colorado. Kendall Mountain – Silverton (7.6cm) and Wolf Creek (5.1cm) will offer soft, chalky turns. These are great options if you prefer sunshine and visibility over storm skiing.
• BC Alternatives: If you can't make it as far north as Powder King, Tabor Mountain is expecting a respectable 14.6cm, offering good conditions with a Powder Score of 56.

Final Verdict

For the week of Jan 19-26, the East Coast and Greenland are the volume winners. However, for the best overall experience combining snow depth and rideability, Snow Ridge offers the most accessible deep powder for North American skiers, while Powder King remains the steadfast choice for the West.
