Über Kutchancho Asahigaoka
Kutchancho Asahigaoka is a highly regarded ski resort, renowned for its excellent facilities and welcoming atmosphere. It is particularly favored by beginners, given the availability of free cross-country ski rental, and a beginner-friendly chairlift. The process of securing these amenities is straightforward, simply requiring the completion of a form at the ticket office, making it a hassle-free experience for visitors. The resort's charm lies in its modest size, which contributes to its intimate and cozy ambiance. Despite being small, it offers a variety of skiing options. The ski lift, a pair lift, leads to two easy runs on the left, offering a comfortable ride back to the lift itself or to the ticket office with a quick schuss at the end. There's also a steeper slope to the right of the lift, perfect for those looking to improve their technique. Across the road from the ski field, visitors can discover a large field with a cross-country ski circuit, providing an alternative skiing experience. The top of the lift also provides a panoramic view of Kutchan, enhancing the overall experience. For leisurely activities, the resort offers a multitude of options. Families can enjoy a walk with their children, and the top of the resort offers breathtaking views. A cafe is available for those seeking a break, and a spacious parking lot provides easy access to the resort. The resort is also a community hub, serving as a practice area for local Self-Defense Force members, youth groups, and a gathering spot for the community. The resort is well-regarded for its good snow quality, which makes it ideal for beginners to practice on powder snow. The main course may seem steep, but a side course is available that is safe for beginners. At night, visitors can enjoy stunning views of Kutchan Town, creating a memorable experience. In addition to its excellent facilities and skiing options, Kutchancho Asahigaoka is conveniently located close to the city, making it highly accessible for visitors. It's also a favorite among locals due to its affordability and community-oriented atmosphere. Despite its small size, it provides the same quality of snow as larger ski resorts like Niseko, making it an underrated gem for light snowboarding and skiing.
