Our staff consists of locals, transplants, seasonal workers from all 50 states and international students from around the globe. (Last year over 1,100 staff members celebrated their fifth season or more at Deer Valley). Ski perks (vary based on employment status) may include Deer Valley season pass, free skiing or riding at other Alterra Resorts and select local Utah resortsFriends and family ski discounts, free staff ski lessons and discounted rentals (winter staff only)Subsidized meals at Employee Dining Rooms offered for staff while on shiftSubsidized housing options available for seasonal full-time staffDiscounts for staff members at restaurants, shops, and service providers in Park CityHealthcare options are available for staff members401k plan with company match PURPOSE OF POSITION: The Royal Street Cafe assistant sous chef is responsible for assisting the sous chef with all food preparation. RESPONSIBILITIES: Operate the kitchen with great attention to food quality, taste, and presentationDevelop new menu items in conjunction with the sous chefCarry out administrative functions, including forecasting, payroll, scheduling, recruiting, training, supervising, and disciplineDirect, motivate, and train kitchen personnelEnsure proper maintenance of operations, equipment, and facilityMaintain safe and sanitary working conditions in accordance with health codesOther duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of 5 years of experience in the culinary industryPossess a current Utah state food handler's permit or SafeServe CertificateAble to lift and carry a minimum of 40 lbs.Able to withstand frequent up/down, twisting, and repetitive movements DATES OF EMPLOYMENT: November 2025 - April 2026 PAY RATE: Pay: $26.00 per hour Deer Valley Resort is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
