A word of advice for future visitors, ensure to purchase your ticket at the lower level along with the cable car ticket as there are no options to do so at the top. Conveniently, there are also restroom facilities and refreshments available.”

“My recent adventure at Buchensteinwand – St Ulrich am Pillersee | ​St Jakob in Haus | ​Hochfilzen was absolutely delightful, particularly for my little ones. We began our journey with a thrilling chairlift ride up to the awe-inspiring Jakobskreuz (St. James' Cross). From there, we embarked on a short but exciting trail, which required surefootedness and led us to some breathtaking viewpoints. A charming playground by the lake was our next stop, much to the delight of the children. After some fun and frolic, we traced our steps back to the magnificent Jakobskreuz, a leisurely 45-minute walk. The climb up to the Jakobskreuz is a must-do, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape. For the more adventurous, a short hike to the summit cross is also an option. The views were absolutely gorgeous, and to my surprise, even my 4-year-old managed the journey with ease. All in all, our visit to Buchensteinwand was a thrilling experience and it is undoubtedly a fantastic destination. I'm sure we will be back for more!”
