Kamui Misaka

“I appreciate Kamui Misaka for its convenient location, just an hour and a half from downtown Tokyo. It's easily accessible and close to the parking lot. My children, who are in the middle and upper grades of elementary school, had a great time at the beginner's ski school. The ski school, which lasts for four hours a day, was an enjoyable experience for them. They provide a 3-piece ski rental set for children. The instructors are patient and thorough, ensuring that the beginners understand the basics, such as stopping in a V-shape, before they get on the lift. The coaches are always ready to accompany those who are not comfortable riding alone, ensuring the safety of the learners. Even if one struggles with skiing, they offer one-on-one coaching, which is very beneficial. The school's slope is narrow and primarily used by children who are beginners. Parents can comfortably wait at the bottom of the slope with simple folding chairs. The facility also offers a sledding slope at Kids Town, which is a fun-filled space where children can enjoy playing in the snow. We even made a large snowman there last year. The facility offers a variety of food options such as ramen, udon, curry, kalbi rice bowls, fries, and more. The ticket machines are versatile in payment methods, accepting cash, credit cards, and barcode payments. They also have vending machines that provide water at a reasonable rate. There's a designated smoking area situated below the intermediate slope. However, they lack a rest room for babies. Despite this, I always find my visits to Kamui Misaka easy and satisfying.”

“I recently visited Kamui Misaka for a snowboarding trip. Despite its smaller size with only four lifts and five courses, I found it to be quite a charming spot. The snow conditions were a bit hard, which may not be ideal for everyone. The majority of the courses are designed for beginners to intermediates, making it a popular choice for families and those new to snowboarding. However, due to the high footfall, I harbored some concerns about the safety of beginners as there's a high chance of colliding with fellow snowboarders. Weekends tend to be crowded, with regular visitors and several tour buses filling the place. The only downside was that the rental operations seemed a bit disorganized, leading to a bit of chaos. Despite this, I still found the overall experience enjoyable.”

“Traveling from Tokyo, I was intrigued to visit Kamui Misaka due to its reputation as a ski resort accessible with regular tires and the enticing offer of half-price lift tickets. Despite the lack of abundant snow this spring, which gave the semblance of artificial snow, the course was satisfactorily covered, enabling me to ski. The snow quality was acceptable, and I believe a winter visit would provide a different experience. What truly impressed me about Kamui Misaka was the exceptional service. From the ski school coach to the lift station operators, restaurant staff, and ticket office personnel, everyone was remarkably kind. I didn't encounter a single negative interaction. The resort seemed very well-run, an aspect that stood out given my perception that most seasonal locations employ part-time staff. My children, who experienced their first skiing adventure at Kamui Misaka, are already looking forward to returning next season. Viewing the resort through a child's eyes, I believe this speaks volumes about its quality. I am appreciative of this wonderful experience.”
