Kusatsu Onsen

“I found Kusatsu Onsen to be an ideal family-friendly ski slope. However, I noticed that the location lacks variety in courses and there are a few bumps on the trails. The snow conditions were somewhat sparse, which made venturing off-trail into the bushes a bit risky. As an advanced skier, I found that the terrain didn't keep me engaged for more than an hour. However, Kusatsu Onsen redeemed itself with its abundance of hot springs in the vicinity. If hot springs are your main interest, this might be a good location for you.”

“While I noted some brusqueness from the rental staff, I was pleased with the overall experience at Kusatsu Onsen. It offers excellent skiing opportunities and I was particularly impressed by the quality of the restaurant.”

“I visited Kusatsu Onsen on a peaceful Monday morning, arriving at around 10:30. I decided to take a leisurely stroll to pass some time. Although the journey from Aeruyado Takamatsu took about 25 minutes and involved navigating some snow-covered roads, it was a manageable walk. I had to be cautious as the roads could potentially be dangerous if cars were to pass by. However, upon my return from Sainokawara Park, I noticed the scenery looked more enchanting from this route and, to my relief, there were no cars. I can't give an accurate assessment of the snow's quality as I never slipped. I did have some drinks which were satisfyingly delicious. I appreciated the tranquility as the place wasn't crowded.”

“Upon my recent visit to Kusatsu Onsen, I noticed that the staff at the equipment rental service could improve their communication skills. It was not the most pleasant experience, particularly with one larger gentleman. While they do offer rental accessories, a word of caution that gloves are available for purchase only, not rental. On a positive note, I appreciated the cleanliness of the restrooms, which are now equipped with modern washlets. Unfortunately, the absence of the gondola has significantly reduced its charm as a ski resort. I would say it's ideal to visit mainly for the hot springs.”
