“My stay at Yokomuki Onsen was pleasant, despite the bit of a walk from Yufuin Station and the lack of a sidewalk which made it slightly inconvenient. The room conditions were excellent and spacious, and I found a huge attraction in the 24-hour access to the hot spring. I appreciated the convenience of receiving the entrance password and Wi-Fi details via email on the morning of my visit. If I were to visit again, I would certainly choose to stay here. In retrospect, forgoing the songyeong and kaiseki was a good decision. Considering the room quality, service, and location, I would rate this place as follows: Rooms - 4 out of 5, Service - 4 out of 5, and Location - 3 out of 5.”

“My experience at Yokomuki Onsen was truly wonderful. The private open-air hot spring was a highlight, the water was exceptional. The space was generous with plenty of beds and the kitchen was fully equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. I am eager to return, as my satisfaction with the accommodation is off the charts. The only slight drawback was the check-in process which was somewhat complicated. In terms of the trip, it was a family holiday. The hotel offers a luxurious experience with a great view, making it both romantic and quiet. It is also kid-friendly and offers great value overall. The rooms and location both earned a perfect score of 5, with the service slightly lower at 4.”

“During my holiday at Yokomuki Onsen, I found the room to be the highlight of my stay. However, my experience at the restaurant was rather disappointing. I ordered a medium steak, but received it well-done. The service was less than satisfactory, with the waiter placing our food on the table with little regard. My family and I also had an uncomfortable experience where we were photographed without our consent. When we didn't pose for the camera, the staff complained and insisted we retake the photo, which felt invasive. Despite the location being fairly decent, the overall service left much to be desired. The food was average at best, but the poor service greatly overshadowed this. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I cannot recommend the restaurant at Yokomuki Onsen.”

The property is a grand two-story house nestled on a hill featuring 4-5 bedrooms, along with a living room on both floors. The kitchen doubles as a dining room and is fully equipped, allowing for home-cooked meals. The house has two bathrooms, one on each floor. For those seeking relaxation, the house boasts both an indoor and an outdoor onsen, providing a serene and private experience. Six of us traveled together on this trip, and we all found the spaciousness of the house quite accommodating. This place is perfect for a holiday trip with family. The service was commendable, and the location is unparalleled with a splendid view and tranquil surroundings. Overall, the Yokomuki Onsen offers great value for a peaceful and comfortable stay.”

“Staying at Yokomuki Onsen was quite an experience. The ryokan is situated a bit far from Yufuin Station and the lack of a sidewalk made it slightly inconvenient. However, the room was well-maintained and spacious, which compensated for the minor inconvenience. What stands out about this place is the 24-hour access to the hot spring - it's truly a distinctive feature. They were quite efficient in their communication too, emailing me the entrance password and Wi-Fi details on the morning of my stay. Should I find myself in this area again, I wouldn't hesitate to choose Yokomuki Onsen. If one doesn't mind skipping songyeong and kaiseki, this place is indeed a great choice. I would rate the rooms and service a 4 out of 5, and the location a 3 out of 5.”

“Immersing myself in the private open-air hot spring at Yokomuki Onsen was an absolute delight. The quality of the hot spring water was truly exceptional. The accommodation was spacious with numerous beds and the kitchen was fully equipped with all the necessary utensils. Despite the check-in process being somewhat laborious, it didn't entirely dampen my overall experience. I am beyond satisfied with the lodging and I wholeheartedly look forward to returning. The luxury, the breathtaking view, the romantic ambiance, the tranquility, and the kid-friendly environment all contribute to making this place fantastic. It's definitely a great spot for a family holiday. The rooms, location, and overall value were topnotch, although the service could use a little improvement.”

“During my family holiday at Yokomuki Onsen, I must admit that our experience was rather mixed. Despite the room we booked being a pleasant element of our stay, we were not as fortunate when it came to our dining experience. We had ordered steaks medium-rare, but they arrived well-done and were unceremoniously plunked down on our table by the wait staff. Much to our surprise, our pictures were taken without prior consent and when we failed to pose, the staff insisted on retakes. This left us questioning our privacy and rights as visitors. The overall service left a lot to be desired, and while the food was average, our overall experience with the restaurant service was far from satisfactory. Our rating for the rooms is 3, but the service merits only a 1 and the location a 2.”

The facility is well-designed for privacy and comfort, featuring one bathroom upstairs and one downstairs. The highlight was undoubtedly the onsen - one indoors and another outdoors. My travel group consisted of six people, and we found the space to be quite accommodating. The trip was a holiday vacation with my family. In terms of the hotel's highlights, it offered a great view and peaceful environment, in addition to providing excellent value. The ratings I would give are 5 for rooms and location, and 4 for the service.”
