“I had a fairly conventional skiing experience at the Pennsylvania-based Jack Frost Mountain. While the trails were a bit narrow due to the limitations of the manufactured snow, the smaller size of the mountain and the modest number of trails did not deter my enjoyment. What stood out to me most was the extraordinary friendliness and helpfulness of every staff member I encountered. Additionally, the mountain is a part of the Epic ski pass program, which was a bonus.”

“Upon arriving early at Jack Frost Mountain, I was eager to experience skiing on two mountains, as indicated by my pre-purchased online ticket. However, I noticed that not all of the ski lifts were operational. The skiing at Jack Frost was enjoyable, albeit requiring some effort to reach the lifts. Throughout the day, I tried to ascertain when the mountains were closing for the season, but the staff was unable to provide a clear answer. My plan was to ski at both Jack Frost and Big Boulder in the afternoon, but to my surprise, I was informed by a restaurant employee that Big Boulder was closed. This was quite an inconvenience, as I had arranged to meet others to ski there later that day. When I approached the customer service desk, they mentioned that the closure had been posted on their main website since March 5th. I reached out to Big Boulder and Jack Frost via email, hoping for some form of compensation for the inconvenience caused. However, the response lacked empathy, suggesting that I should have checked their website, despite the fact that they had sent me a message 24 hours earlier encouraging me to enjoy skiing on both mountains. Furthermore, I was disappointed by the food and service at the mountain's cafeteria. The meal was cold and tasted stale, and it was difficult to get service in the restaurant, bar, and lounge located upstairs. Unfortunately, my overall experience was marred by miscommunication and misinformation, leading to a disappointing day. The management should ensure accurate information is conveyed to those purchasing tickets, particularly when advertising access to two mountains.”

“Jack Frost Mountain serves as a fine choice for skiing, particularly for families, within a couple of hours from New York City. The mountain is of a moderate size, offering a variety of trails to suit different skill levels and keeping the experience interesting. The availability of trails, however, is contingent on the weather conditions. For instance, due to the cold spells in December 2022, both artificial and natural snow was plentiful, allowing for a good selection of open trails. During milder winters, the number of open trails may decrease. Recently, they've installed new lifts, which replaced some old ones. These new lifts function effectively, ensuring that the lift lines progress smoothly unless there's a need to halt. It's worth noting that occasional stoppages were observed on the lift for the green trails, but this is somewhat anticipated.”
