Aperçu de Mitsumata | Kagura | Tashiro

The Mitsumata, Kagura, and Tashiro Ski Resort is an exquisite winter destination with a stunning view of a nearby lake from the mountain top. The resort is especially beautiful on sunny days, and its snow quality is considered one of the best in Japan. The entire mountain serves as your skiing course, giving you the freedom to explore and create your own adventure, although this may pose as a challenge for beginners.

The resort is vast and not typically crowded, making it a paradise for seasoned skiers and snowboarders. Despite the lack of numerous restaurants and bars within the area, the resort boasts some of the best snow conditions in the Yuzawa area due to its high altitude. The resort season typically runs from November through May, with optimum skiing conditions present from January onwards.

There are two restaurants available, although they tend to be busy during lunch hours. For an even better experience, visitors can take the lift Y for a spectacular lake view. The resort also features two fast lifts and one slower one, with access to the Naeba area. Vegetarian and vegan food options may be limited within the ski area.

The Tashiro area of Kagura Resort is known for its wide, easy slopes. However, it may take some time to traverse across the Kagura and Mitsumata areas due to the mountain's layout. Kagura is popular for its long season and high quality snow late into the season.

Safety is paramount in the resort, and while there were instances of fast lift-related accidents, protective gear is advised to avoid injuries. The gondola is spacious and fast, ensuring efficient transport across the resort.

The resort is also family-friendly and well set up for beginners, although English signages are limited. Despite this, it doesn't take away from the charm and appeal of the resort. The ski area is connected to Naeba either by a gondola or a shuttle bus, providing easy access across the different areas.

However, it's worth noting that cleanliness may be an issue, specifically in the public bath area. Therefore, visitors are advised to check these facilities beforehand. Despite minor drawbacks, the Mitsumata, Kagura, and Tashiro Ski Resort remains an excellent choice for skiers and snowboarders seeking a serene and thrilling winter adventure.
