Moelltal Glacier

“I had an amazing day visiting Moelltal Glacier, indulging in high altitude skiing. The ski area was in prime condition and it was a fantastic experience to ski there, particularly this year when it was abundantly covered with snow.”

“I found the ski slopes at Moelltal Glacier to be absolutely fantastic, with a majority of them being red and black. There are a few blue slopes available for those who are just starting to ski. However, it's worth noting that the longest blue slope, labelled as '9', does end with a challenging 10% that is classified as red difficulty.”

“My visit to the Moelltal Glacier was satisfactory for a day's experience. It's a modest-sized skiing resort that offers good freeriding opportunities, especially when it's snowing. However, the weather was cloudy during my visit which somewhat tarnished the overall experience. One point to note was an issue I had with an application during registration, which tried to make an unauthorized charge on my card. Therefore, I would advise future visitors to be cautious about this. Despite these minor setbacks, the resort has potential.”

“My experience at Moelltal Glacier was a bit of a mixed bag. On one hand, I was able to enjoy some fantastic skiing in superb weather conditions. However, there were some downsides. My impression was that the resort often uses wind conditions as an excuse for limiting certain services, although I hope that's not the case. The infrastructure and lifts seem to be quite outdated, appearing to have not been significantly updated since the 1980s. The most recent modernization appears to be the 6-chair with bubbles in 2001. However, they do maintain up-to-date snow groomers and snow cannons. I suspect the outdated infrastructure might be why the resort is so susceptible to wind conditions. The dining options left something to be desired, with the food quality not quite meeting the standard set by many other Austrian skiing resorts. However, I must commend the resort on its excellently groomed ski runs, which remained in great condition even into the late afternoon. The scenery at Moelltal Glacier is simply breathtaking, which is a major plus. Therefore, my advice to future visitors would be to be cautious when purchasing ski passes in advance. It might be best to wait until you're certain the wind conditions will be suitable for skiing.”
