Info Canada Olympic Park – Calgary
Nestled in the heart of Calgary, the Canada Olympic Park is a renowned ski resort, recognized for its significant role in the 1988 Winter Olympic Games. Today, it retains its Olympic legacy while serving as a versatile sports center. The park caters to high-performance athletic training and is also an accessible winter sports venue for the general public, making it a hub of activity and excitement throughout the year. The resort is noted for its well-maintained parks which add to the overall appeal of the place. However, it is important for beginners to note that while there are many coaches available, their methods have been reported as less than satisfactory. The coaches, easily identifiable in their blue coats, are often seen promoting their courses in the beginners' area. Despite their active presence, some visitors have found the content of these courses lacking, comparing them unfavorably to a brief instructional video. Therefore, novices may want to consider other learning resources to ensure a comprehensive introduction to the sport. In addition to the various sports facilities, an exceptional feature of the park is its shuttle service. The drivers, especially one known as Stacey Zeer, have been highlighted for their friendliness and professionalism, significantly enhancing the overall experience for visitors. In summary, the Canada Olympic Park is a historic venue that continues to serve as a dynamic sports center, offering a variety of facilities for athletes and the general public alike. While the quality of coaching for beginners has been questioned, the park’s other aspects, including the commendable shuttle service, contribute to its standing as a notable destination in Calgary.
