Info Zermatt Ski Resort
Zermatt Ski Resort is a highly recommended destination for experienced skiers, featuring breathtaking views, excellent slope conditions, and a unique lift system. The resort, nestled in the heart of the Swiss Alps, offers a stunning view of the Matterhorn. Visitors can ski from Zermatt to Italy, covering 21 miles in a day. The resort is also known for its vibrant après scene and excellent dining options located off the lower runs. The resort is accessible by train or helicopter, adding to its clean and eco-friendly atmosphere. The absence of cars contributes to a serene environment, where visitors can enjoy skiing or hiking depending on the season. The town itself is picturesque, with a fantastic atmosphere that transports visitors to a new world. However, Zermatt Ski Resort is not suitable for beginner skiers. Even the blue slopes can be steep and icy, making them challenging for those less experienced. The resort is also considered to be one of the most expensive in Europe, with high costs associated with skiing, shopping, and dining. Some visitors have noted a decline in service quality over the years, making the high prices less justifiable. While the resort offers a broad range of slopes to cater to different skill levels, the area selected for lessons has been criticized as being poorly chosen, and not ideal for progression after initial training. Additionally, some visitors have raised safety concerns over the skiing conditions. In summary, Zermatt Ski Resort offers an unparalleled skiing experience with stunning views and a unique atmosphere. However, it may not be suitable for beginners or those with budget constraints due to its challenging slopes and high costs.
