Asarigawa Onsen

“I recently had the opportunity to visit Asarigawa Onsen, conveniently located just a short two-minute drive from Asarigawa ski resort. The onsen itself was quite enjoyable, offering both a rotemburo (outdoor bath) and a cold bath outdoors. Additionally, there was a sauna available in a separate room. The venue was quite bustling for a Saturday afternoon, indicating its popularity among locals and tourists alike. The facilities were also well-maintained, boasting around 15 shower booths and one standing shower. However, there wasn't much of a view to enjoy. Unfortunately, the restaurant wasn't open for lunch during my visit, which was a bit disappointing. On a brighter note, the establishment did provide moisturiser milk and oil, which was a nice touch. In terms of ratings, I'd give the rooms a 3, service a commendable 5, and location a solid 4. Overall, my trip to Asarigawa Onsen was a pleasant one.”

“I made a trip to Asarigawa Onsen in February 2024. I found the room size to be quite generous, although it lacked an in-room shower. The overall aesthetic of the corridors and rooms reminded me of a hospital, which makes sense given that the building was formerly a nursing home, now repurposed into a hotel.”

“I had a genuinely enjoyable stay at the Asarigawa Onsen. The traditional Japanese hot spring hotel is a haven of tranquility, featuring simple and tidy rooms. Although the rooms do not have private bathrooms, it provided an excellent opportunity to immerse myself in the Japanese public bathing culture, a unique experience facilitated by the hotel. The outdoor hot spring was particularly delightful, while the indoor hot spring was somewhat warmer at around 42c. The hotel also conveniently provides free parking. This makes for a peaceful holiday, particularly for couples. With its commendable service and great location, I would certainly recommend a stay here.”
