It's situated at the boundary of Germany and Austria, offering breathtaking views of the mountains. On a clear day, you can even catch a glimpse of Salzburg. I find myself frequently drawn to this place. However, if you plan on driving here, ensure that you're prepared with some change. Also, be aware that there's a fee associated with the ride, though it's undoubtedly worth it, especially on beautiful weather days when the view is spectacular. The surrounding region is rich with attractions like Berchtesgaden and Lake Königssee. I highly recommend doing some research before your visit to take full advantage of the area. A word of caution for those travelling from Germany - most navigation systems direct you via the Austrian BAB, which requires a toll. It might seem unnecessary for a short trip, but the toll control employees are vigilant. Avoid the hassle of a hefty fine by preparing in advance. If you prefer not to display a sticker on your window, you have the option to pay the toll online linked to your vehicle license plate. However, allow 2-3 weeks for activation. For a quicker process, consider going through the ADAC. I truly hope you have a pleasant, stress-free journey and enjoy great weather. I visited on a weekday, and there was no wait time and no need for reservations. It's undoubtedly a trip that's more than worth it.”
