Chateraise Ski Valley Nobeyama

“I've been visiting Chateraise Ski Valley Nobeyama for nearly three decades. The food is commendable, with the tanmen, steak, and cakes at the noodle corner being particularly pleasing. It's unfortunate, though, that the alpine course isn't available during the year-end and New Year holidays. Though they still commemorate the end of the year with Toshikoshi Soba and a fireworks festival, I miss the excitement of the lottery that was once a staple. Despite this, the early bird lift tickets are a great offering, and I'll undoubtedly be visiting again soon.”

It was my first skiing venture at the tender age of four, but the instructors were patient and knowledgeable, making the learning process smooth. Their dedication and professionalism were so inspiring that I extended my morning lessons to include the afternoon as well. Taking a snack break at Chateraise added to the overall satisfaction. The combination of great service, expert guidance, and well-planned breaks made my visit to this ski resort very enjoyable.”

“I found the Chateraise Ski Valley Nobeyama to be a place with great scenery and generally favorable weather conditions. The snow doesn't melt as quickly as it does at the neighboring ski resort, which was a definite plus for me. If you're interested in further positive aspects, I recommend checking out the reviews from those who rated it 5 stars. On the downside, the ski rental equipment, especially the skis, is not of the highest quality. I noticed that the ski boots seemed particularly worn out, with missing buckles and a dated feel to them. This was a bit disappointing. The ski school is adequate, but since there is only one lift, they tend to get priority. This can be somewhat inconvenient. Additionally, in the afternoons, there are a lot of young, fast skiers, which can be a bit dangerous. I noted at least three incidents during my visit. I believe this may be partly due to poor lift flow management. As for the food, it was pretty standard, although I was not particularly impressed with the ramen noodles. Considering the name 'Chateraise', I expected a bit more variety beyond cakes. The seating arrangement for non-smokers could also be improved. Regrettably, I found the toilet facilities to be less than clean. Although the lift tickets are affordable, beginners only get access to one ride, and intermediate level players get two. This can get a bit repetitive, and advanced skiers may find the top section somewhat uninspiring. School groups seem to take over most of the training areas. The beginner's lift is located close to the intermediate lift, which can lead to confusion and crossing paths during crowded times. Overall, I'd say this resort is more suitable for beginners rather than families.”
