“I don't usually pen down negative feedback, but I believe it's important to share my singular experience at Mont du Lac. I had reserved tickets for inner-tubing for myself and my toddler daughter, explicitly mentioning her age at the time of booking. Upon reaching the office, my friend Simon and I were informed by the staff that our kids must meet a certain height requirement to use the innertubes individually, and 'doubling-up' was not allowed. Furthermore, the tickets were non-refundable. There seems to be a need for improved staff training or a prompt on the website about the height restrictions during the booking process. My rating for the service is 1 out of 5.”

“I visited Mont du Lac with my partner as a potential wedding venue and we were initially enchanted by its beauty. However, after making our deposit, we were met with a series of frustrations. The management and event planning team at Mont du Lac were incredibly difficult to work with. There was a significant lack of communication and our inquiries were often met with delayed responses, if any at all. When we did receive a response, it often failed to answer our original question. The management even attempted to shift the blame to us when we asked basic questions about the event. If you thrive on planning and require detailed information in advance, I would not recommend hosting your wedding at Mont du Lac. However, it could be suitable for those who are comfortable with a more laid-back approach and are content with going with the flow. We voiced our concerns about the poor communication to the management, but their solutions were insufficient. They simply suggested we create a timeline for them to follow, which they would then use for future guests. The final point of frustration came when we received only half of our deposit back, despite canceling well over a year before our scheduled event. We were told this was their policy, but it was neither documented nor discussed with us. Overall, the experience at Mont du Lac was too stressful for my liking.”

“I embarked on a spontaneous family trip and decided to book a room at Mont du Lac resort. The room description promised all the modern amenities for a comfortable stay, such as complimentary toiletries, plush linen, a private bathroom, and a TV. However, the reality was far from the description. After a long drive, we found that the room lacked a private bathroom, offering only a shared outdoor porta-potty. Moreover, the room had no heating, barring a fireplace, but we were not provided with any means to start a fire. There was no running water in the room, and the bedding was far from the promised 'feather-soft'. Only one bed was made upon our arrival, and it had an unsightly dead fly on the blanket. The room was not as pictured online. The driveway to the rooms was quite steep and poorly marked, making it challenging to navigate. This became particularly problematic for a family member who has difficulty walking, rendering the outdoor porta-potty almost unusable. The lack of heat and thin blankets left us feeling cold. On a more positive note, the view from the cabin was stunning. But, due to the unexpected issues, our stay was short-lived. Some advice for future visitors: 1. Thoroughly research the property and know exactly what you're booking. 2. Be prepared for potential extra charges. 3. This location may not be ideal for those who prefer more comfortable lodging or are not fans of camping. 4. Bring all necessary supplies, including food, bedding, and heating equipment. 5. Don't rely too heavily on the staff for assistance. In terms of ratings, the room, service, and location scored a 1, 1, and 3 respectively. The room was decent except for the glaring issue of no bathroom. The safety aspect was questionable, and the location was not walkable for any of us.”

“I had a delightful experience celebrating my son-in-law's birthday at Mont du Lac's restaurant. The food, service, and ambiance were exceptional, deserving a solid 6-star rating. The service was commendable, and the location was perfect, both receiving a 5-star rating from me.”
