“I recently visited Powder Mountain and was surprised by the significant increase in the lift ticket price. Despite the fact that the resort only has a handful of lifts, with just one or two high-speed ones, the price had nearly doubled from the previous year. While it's within my means, I found myself questioning the value, especially considering other nearby options that offer similar experiences for less. My hope is that the resort takes notice of any potential decrease in visitors due to this pricing decision.”

“I am deeply disappointed in Powder Mountain. Over the years, they have become increasingly elitist, pricing out loyal locals like myself. I recently checked the ticket price for a day pass and it was shockingly high, even more than Snowbasin. I have always considered Powder Mountain to be a local gem and have been a strong advocate for them, but I feel they have let their loyal customers down.
In my opinion, it's the best resort around, unless you prefer spending time in the lodge, in which case I'd recommend Snowbasin. I'd rather have the snow to those who truly wish to enjoy it.
However, my recent experience was far from my expectations. The power was off, two lifts were closed, the bathrooms at Hidden Lake Lodge weren't operational, and there were no rentals at Sundown. The parking was the worst I've seen in a long time. Everything that could have gone wrong seemed to. I even had to wait an hour at Lefties for a bus. I'm considering finding a new resort, or even giving up snowboarding altogether due to these negative experiences.”

“I have a long history with Powder Mountain, having skied there since its inception in the 70's. It was a place that appreciated its patrons and cultivated a unique, hometown feel. As time went on, I understood and accepted the necessary changes and price increases to keep up with the evolving economy and the burgeoning popularity of Utah's ski areas.
However, recent developments have been disheartening. The decision to close off multiple areas to cater to a wealthier clientele feels like a betrayal to those of us who have been skiing these slopes for decades. As a local, I always favored Powder Mountain over other resorts, despite the slower lifts and more modest facilities. It was the local feel and the love of the sport that mattered to me.
Unfortunately, the steep hike in day-pass prices and the shift in focus to more affluent customers feels like a disregard for the local patrons who have supported this place from the beginning. It's becoming increasingly difficult for locals, who work hard to budget for their love of skiing, to afford to ski here.
Moreover, the next generation of local youngsters may not be able to continue the tradition due to these rates. It's a real concern that this approach could alienate future clients. It's truly regrettable that the focus seems to have shifted solely to profit, neglecting the loyal community that helped build this place up. Despite the undeniably excellent skiing experience on the mountain, the current ownership and management strategies are disappointing.”
