Șureanu

“I have a mixed impression of Șureanu. On one hand, the striking landscape, well-maintained slopes, skilled ski instructors, and spacious parking lots without snow are commendable. The road condition is also satisfactory. However, there are areas where significant improvement is needed. The chairlift staff could be more prepared and attentive. I had an unfortunate experience where a child fell from the chairlift, and despite the dangerous situation, the chairlift was not halted. The chairlift itself, despite being in decent condition, is rather outdated and operates at a slow speed, not quite in line with expectations for 2023. Moreover, the staff does not adhere to the displayed operating hours, closing earlier than indicated which can be frustrating. The queuing system could also be better managed, as I found myself waiting for almost 40 minutes in line at the ski lift during the weekend, despite having paid for a 2-hour ski session. I also noticed that ski instructors with children do not get priority access. The area lacks a dedicated activity zone for children, with only a simple fenced-off area available. Food options are limited, with only two places available for lunch or snacks. I believe that Șureanu has the potential to be one of the best ski areas in the country, and I hope that the management will take these points into consideration and make the necessary improvements.”

“I've had the pleasure of visiting Şureanu, a peaceful destination perfect for a serene skiing experience. The ski slopes are of a moderate level, making them accessible even to beginners. It's a place I would suggest for anyone seeking a tranquil skiing getaway. My recent visit in February 2023, however, revealed that the chairlift could use an upgrade. It's moving at a sluggish pace, taking more than 10 minutes to ascend, compared to a brief 3-minute descent. The efficiency of the chairlift could definitely be improved.”
