Axamer Lizum Overview

Axamer Lizum is a fantastic ski resort with a range of amenities to suit skiers of all abilities. The resort offers an array of off-piste runs to explore, along with long runs that provide an exhilarating experience for seasoned skiers. However, it's worth noting that some main runs can become icy late in the day. The Golden Roof Park is an exciting feature of the resort, ideal for those who enjoy park riding.

One of the highlights of Axamer Lizum is its family-friendly environment, making it a perfect destination for children. The nearby areas provide opportunities for hiking, with sights of sheep and horses adding to the adventure. However, it is advised to bring hiking sticks for easier navigation.

The resort is located in Tirol and is easily accessible through a cable car, which is reportedly not crowded compared to other places. The resort also boasts a great restaurant at the top with an amazing view, making it a favorite amongst visitors.

Keep in mind that during season openers, the resort can get crowded due to ski test events and limited slope preparation. Some visitors had issues with the gondola and public transport during these times, which led to longer wait times.

However, Axamer Lizum is highly recommended by most visitors during regular times. The resort offers good gondola service and has a lovely restaurant and bar at the top. It also has a great outdoor area with deck chairs for a relaxing post-ski experience. It is suitable for beginners and intermediate skiers, with a variety of run options available.

In addition to skiing, Axamer Lizum is an incredible place for hiking. The Welcome Card offers free access from the city center to the top in about an hour. There are numerous trails to choose from, all well signposted with distance and duration clearly indicated.

Overall, Axamer Lizum offers a great ski and hiking experience with its well-prepared slopes, fast cable car service, and beautiful natural surroundings. It is indeed a resort worth discovering near Innsbruck.
