Once a thriving skiing destination, Céüse 2000 – Gap is now a picturesque landscape that has unfortunately ceased to operate as a ski resort. The station, which was the oldest of its kind in the Hautes-Alpes, has endured a decline due to inconsistent snowfall and lack of management. Despite its current state, the resort still carries a certain charm, with its splendid scenery and exceptional hiking trails. Its abandoned buildings, including the Gaillard hotel restaurant, stand as reminders of its past glory. However, it is not completely devoid of life as it still serves as a starting point for pleasant hikes, particularly towards the Ceuse peak.
 

 The station's disuse has not diminished the natural beauty of the area. The hiking trails offer a multitude of routes to explore, all leading to breathtaking views at the peak. Visitors fondly recall the memories created here, reminiscing about youth camps and the vibrant atmosphere of past summers. The resort's horseshoe-shaped mountain offers a beautiful view of the Ecrins massif, making it a worthwhile detour for outdoor enthusiasts.
 

 Despite its abandonment, the potential for Céüse 2000 – Gap to be a pleasant place again is palpable. The hotel, which is currently for sale, could be a fantastic accommodation if revived. The surrounding businesses, though currently deserted, could add to the charm of the place if reopened. Hiking to the Cuse mountain is a popular activity, with its challenging terrain and stunning views making it a rewarding journey.
 

 Céüse 2000 – Gap is a testament to the beauty of nature and the impact of climate change. The former ski resort, now primarily a hiking destination, offers spectacular views of the Gapençais basin. Despite its dilapidated buildings and closed ski station, it remains a beloved location for many.
