Darbandsar Ski Resort, located in the north of Tehran, is widely regarded as one of the finest ski resorts in Iran. With its pleasant journey through snowy landscapes and magnificent sceneries, it offers a great place for hiking and winter sports activities. With an elevation of 3000+ meters and a summit altitude of approximately 3600 meters, Darbandsar provides a unique experience for both professional and amateur skiers.
The resort features safe and comfortable cabins and offers a range of amenities, including a restaurant, café, and a rental shop for ski and snowboard equipment. However, as a result of its popularity, the area can become very crowded during weekends and holidays. Despite the crowds, the resort's ski lifts are highly rated and it operates until late in the evening, allowing visitors to enjoy night skiing experiences.
The resort has installed new ski and gondola cables, boasting the largest cabins in Iran. However, the piste size is smaller in comparison to the volume of visitors. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of Mt Damavad from the peak of the resort. Despite some concerns about long gondola lines and unsuitable parking, the resort staff is commended for their helpfulness in managing traffic in the icy, narrow streets.
The Darbandsar Ski Resort is also a beautiful summer destination offering a stunning valley with a picturesque town. The resort also operates night sessions, providing ski lovers with a unique experience. Despite being a smaller resort with two lifts and sometimes having long waiting times, the locals and foreign tourists alike cherish the experiences and memories created at Darbandsar. While it may not be the most suitable for snowboarding due to its narrow routes, it is still a highly recommended resort for skiing, particularly at night.
