Fjällby – Björkliden Overview

Fjällby - Björkliden is a splendid ski resort that offers a unique blend of comfort, activity, and natural beauty. It is highly appreciated for its cozy and functional cabins, some of which are equipped with private saunas. The staff are noted to be welcoming and helpful, maintaining clean and comfortable common areas. Visitors can rent all necessary skiing and hiking equipment on-site, making it a perfect hub for outdoor enthusiasts. Moreover, its location presents an excellent opportunity for aurora hunting.

However, some visitors suggest bringing your own linen and toilet paper, as the ones provided in the cabins could be improved. The resort's location is ideal for hiking and other outdoor activities. While the campsite may not be suitable for tent camping due to its gravelly terrain, it is well-suited for caravans and mobile homes.

The resort's more luxurious cabins, such as Cabin 81, offer great amenities like hot tubs and saunas. The resort's restaurant receives high praise, particularly for its Julbord. Some visitors, however, were disappointed with the view from their cabins, which often overlooked other cabins rather than the promised lake and fjell views.

While the hotel and cabins receive generally positive reviews, the campsite has room for improvement. Some found it dusty and lacking in facilities, with check-in and check-out inconveniently located a kilometer away at the hotel reception.

Despite these drawbacks, the resort's surrounding nature is highly praised, with beautiful walking trails and proximity to the Abisko National Park. The resort also boasts a ski shop and railway station, adding to its convenience.

In the winter, Fjällby - Björkliden transforms into a vibrant ski village, while in the summer it serves as a serene location for walking and exploring the nearby national park. Despite some criticisms, the resort remains a popular choice for its unique offerings, friendly atmosphere, and stunning natural surroundings.
