Glomfjord Overview

Glomfjord Ski Resort is a cherished destination for outdoor enthusiasts, offering a multitude of activities throughout the year. Noted for its picturesque setting and splendid views, this resort is beloved by visitors both young and old.

During the winter season, Glomfjord transforms into a ski haven, boasting a range of slopes to suit all abilities. Despite having fewer descents than some larger resorts, Glomfjord compensates with a unique, un-prepared route for adventurous skiers and snowboarders. This, combined with minimal lift queues, makes for a delightful skiing experience. For the younger or less-experienced skiers, the resort provides a dedicated children's slope and standing pull, ensuring a safe and enjoyable introduction to the sport.

The resort is also renowned for its extraordinary freeriding and randonne top tours, particularly up to Istinden. Visitors can take the chairlift from the center up the first part of the mountain, then embark on a randonne tour that lasts approximately three hours. This journey, marked by a machine-drawn track, offers absolutely stunning views towards Lofoten and the Helgeland coast.

In addition to its superb skiing facilities, Glomfjord Ski Resort offers a charming mountain lodge at the terminus of the chair lift. This lodge provides a range of food and drink options, ensuring guests are well-catered to during their visit. A conservatory/cafe offers a good selection of refreshments, contributing to the overall cozy and welcoming ambiance of the resort.

Despite being run on a voluntary basis, Glomfjord Ski Resort is praised for its professionalism and dedication. Committed to offering great conditions and perfectly prepared slopes, the team behind this facility clearly takes immense pride in their work. This, combined with the resort's natural beauty and array of activities, makes Glomfjord Ski Resort a recommended destination for anyone seeking a memorable outdoor experience.
