Mad River Mountain

“In my previous experiences, Mad River Mountain was a remarkable local Midwest resort. However, the recent transition under Vail's management has drastically altered this. It seems as though the focus has shifted away from the guest experience, with Mad River Mountain now primarily serving as an avenue for promoting the purchase of an Epic pass. I empathize with the loyal employees who have witnessed this change unfold daily, as it must be challenging.”

“I was thoroughly impressed with the beautiful facilities at Mad River Mountain. The eating area, lodge, and rental areas were spotlessly clean, including the bathroom. I noticed the lodge was well staffed, however, I found it challenging to identify the staff on the slopes. There was a time when their coats were easily distinguishable, but that no longer seems to be the case.”

“Having frequented Mad River Mountain for over two decades, I've sadly observed a decline in its quality. The lack of effort to maintain a solid snow base is disheartening, especially when I visited during a cold spell and half the mountain wasn't operational, with no snow machines in sight on the closed runs. Furthermore, the offerings of food and drinks, along with the passes, have significantly changed. Several promotions, such as the beloved College Fridays, are no longer available. It's disconcerting to see how the takeover by Vail has affected our local resort. Despite these changes, I continue to find pleasure in my visits. However, I firmly believe that considerable improvements need to be made to restore Mad River Mountain to its former glory.”
