Mizuho Highland Overview

Mizuho Highland is a renowned ski resort located in the Chugoku area. It is particularly favored for its exceptional service and facilities, making it an ideal spot for both beginner and advanced skiers. This resort is easily accessible, especially for those utilizing the bus tour service that includes a round trip ticket along with the gondola/lift ticket. Additionally, visitors may avail of discounted ski and snowboard equipment rentals.

The resort offers a memorable experience, especially to first-time snowboarders. The gondola ride up to the starting point of the snowboarding adventure is typically a highlight. The midway point where the gondola stops is known for its great snow accumulation. However, it can be quite steep, posing a considerable challenge for beginners.

The downhill route displays an initial abundance of plush snow, but the conditions deteriorate the farther down you go with the snow thinning out in places, or even disappearing completely. Despite these obstacles, the overall experience is enjoyable, making it a place worth revisiting.

The resort is particularly lauded for its friendly staff that creates a welcoming environment for all visitors. It is also known for its longer snow retention compared to other resorts, making it an ideal spot for snowboarding and skiing. However, it's worth noting that not all areas of the park are open throughout the winter.

Mizuho Highland stands out as the best in the Chugoku region thanks to its abundance of lifts and runs, a backcountry area, an excellent terrain park, and superb slope maintenance. Despite minor shortcomings like the occasional slow lifts and the need for adequate snowfall, it is a highly recommended destination. Lastly, the resort's accurate weather reports, proximity to the Sanyo Expressway, and competitive pricing further add to its appeal.
