Naspa Ski Garden

“I found Naspa Ski Garden to be an ideal place for beginners, with no obstacles like boarders on the ski slope, which made practicing quite convenient. The Course F, in particular, was perfect for teaching my children who are just starting out in skiing.”

“Naspa Ski Garden offers a relatively secluded skiing experience since it's exclusive to skiers. It's akin to a private ski slope for Hotel New Otani with its small, family-friendly size. Although the resort doesn't facilitate long runs, one can ski more than half of the course with a single quad lift. The resort includes permanent mogul courses and parks, however, some features were absent, possibly due to a lack of snow this season. The resort now only offers two lanes instead of the usual three - one with an air platform for beginners and one without. I found the beginner's lane to be quite unexciting and not truly representative of a mogul course. I hope the resort will consider reinstating the third lane for an enhanced skiing experience. Despite the low altitude of the resort affecting snow quality, Naspa Ski Garden remains one of my preferred skiing destinations. One unique aspect is the frequent sightings of serows, which could serve as an interesting activity for children while on the lift. However, I found the food and drink prices at the resort, particularly for items like gelato and canned beverages, to be more expensive than I had anticipated. Interestingly, the vending machine near the hotel entrance offers more reasonable prices for drinks, so it might be worth the short walk.”

“Upon my visit to Naspa Ski Garden, I found myself instantly maneuvering to the left.”

“My first experience skiing at Naspa Ski Garden was indeed memorable. This ski-only resort was slightly crowded during the weekend. The beginner's course seemed a bit narrow and congested, making it risky to ski at high speeds. I observed some advanced skiers zipping past slower ones, which was a bit concerning. Despite this, there are various courses such as mogul and hump slopes that add to the fun. The conditions were a bit rough and slippery in mid-February, probably due to the warm winter this year. I am considering revisiting next January. The restaurant at the resort had ample seating. With a little patience, finding a seat was not an issue and the wait was shorter compared to my experience at Naeba. However, a safety concern was noted on top of the mountain near the restaurant building. There was a crevasse about 2 meters deep caused by melting snow. It was alarming as children or skis could easily fall into it, and there seemed to be no safety measures in place.”
