Pescegallo Valgerola Overview

Pescegallo Valgerola Ski Resort, located at the head of the Orobic valley at an altitude between 1450 and 2000 meters, offers a unique skiing experience for all levels and preferences. It is conveniently the closest Valtellina station to Milan, making it an accessible choice for both local and international visitors.

The resort's diverse terrain is split into two distinct altitudinal levels. The lower level, surrounded by lush fir forests, features a varied terrain with bumps, valleys, and slopes with variable inclinations. The higher level, on the other hand, is set in a pleasant basin with regular slopes, offering a panoramic view of the ridges partly accessible, partly engraved in jagged rocky profiles.

The resort's small size does not limit its offerings, as it provides a range of slopes from challenging and technical to quiet routes with limited difficulty. Snow conditions are typically optimal from December to April, thanks to the resort's altitude, favorable exposure, and the snowiness of the Orobie Alps. Additionally, a programmed snow system ensures usability of the slopes even in years with low rainfall.

Not only does Pescegallo Valgerola appeal to skiers, but it also attracts hikers and mountaineers. There are several routes to choose from, including a wide dirt road or a steep climb through the woods, both leading to breathtaking views. The Salmurano refuge on the slopes provides an excellent dining experience in a typical environment, with friendly staff that make you feel at home.

The resort offers a fairly large parking area and an equipment rental shop for convenience. It also features a 2-seater chairlift that carries you to the slopes and a slower skylift for ascent.

In the summer, the resort transforms into a haven for walkers, with beautiful trails and a cable car to enjoy the spectacular view. The local tourist board organizes festivities and races, adding vibrancy to the valley. Despite its remote location, Pescegallo Valgerola Ski Resort provides an engaging, active, and satisfying experience for all its visitors.
