Sommet Morin Heights

“I found Sommet Morin Heights to be a respectable ski location near Montreal with a pleasant variety of runs. Though navigating between these runs can be a bit perplexing, it's not a major issue. The chalet is indeed quite charming. I wasn't too fond of the food options, which were mostly unhealthy and didn't offer much value for money, so I recommend bringing your own lunch. Lately, my visits have been more frequent and it's a bit disappointing that certain areas of the hill, like the lift on the far left, are often closed in the mornings. Additionally, the frequent competitions limit access to some of the better runs. The EV chargers are a great facility, but their placement could be improved for easier parking. I noticed that it becomes a challenge to park if someone hasn't parked properly, making some spaces inaccessible. The ski lift system could be more efficient, as I noticed people going up two by two, which can be frustrating, especially during busy times. On a more positive note, the ski lessons offered are quite beneficial and there's a delightful little ski park for those looking to try out jumps or simply enjoy some nice waves.”

“Visiting Sommet Morin Heights was an enchanting experience. The mountain, nestled a bit further from the 15 than Saint-Sauveur, boasts four ski lifts. The one on the left was often closed, but the rest were operational and well-maintained. The trails on the right offer a short and easy course, while the ones to the left of the main lift provided more fun and excitement. There were no long queues, with even shorter waits on the right-hand ski lifts. The site also features a large cafeteria on the second floor and a bar, providing plenty of space for changing. What I found most impressive was the courteous and friendly attitude of the team. Overall, a trip to Sommet Morin Heights offers a delightful mix of relaxation and adventure with its well-groomed trails, excellent facilities, and hospitable staff.”

“I visited the delightful mountain of Sommet Morin Heights, nestled in a quaint town. However, I found the staff operating the chairlifts to be largely unskilled, with the exception of one particularly competent individual at the main chairlift. The chairlifts themselves appear to be quite outdated, making the ascent to the peak somewhat challenging for beginners and young children. This consideration necessitates the need for management to employ more experienced and attentive staff. Over the past three weekends, I have witnessed several incidents involving the chairlifts. On each occasion, the staff responsible for the chairlifts at the base and top of the mountain failed to halt the chairlifts in time, potentially leading to serious accidents. Despite my efforts to alert them, they seemed largely unaware of the incidents, displaying a significant lack of attentiveness. Consequently, I wouldn't recommend this place for small families or novice skiers.”
