Storlien Overview

Storlien is a well-regarded ski resort, recognized for its wide runs and easy starter slopes, presenting an ideal environment for learning how to ski. The resort is particularly favorable during mid-January, with guests often enjoying the privilege of having the resort's nine runs virtually to themselves.

The resort is especially appealing to families with beginner to intermediate level skiers, offering green and blue slopes suitable for children who have acquired basic skiing skills. The resort provides excellent amenities, such as a heated cabin, wind shelters, and a barbecue area.

Storlien boasts beautiful natural surroundings that make it more than just a ski resort. Visitors can also enjoy walking trails for a change of pace and scenery. Despite its wide range of facilities, Storlien maintains a reasonable level of busyness, with minimal queues and plenty of parking space.

However, the resort may not fully satisfy those seeking longer, steeper slopes and might need improvement in marking off closed slopes and potential hazards. It's crucial for guests, especially those with children, to be aware of their surroundings for a safe and enjoyable experience.

The friendly and service-oriented staff contribute to the resort's positive reputation, along with well-maintained, nicely pisted slopes. The lift queues are generally short, and on many occasions, guests can have the slopes all to themselves.

Storlien is also known for its close proximity to Åre, making it an excellent alternative for those who prefer shorter slopes and less crowded conditions. The resort is a remarkable ski facility with a genuine charm and has been a preferred destination since the 80s and 90s. Its child-friendly environment and well-groomed slopes continue to draw visitors, making it a standout ski resort in the region.
