Three Peaks Dolomites

“On my visit to the Three Peaks Dolomites on the 15th of May, 2024, I parked near Lake Antorno. This location was about a 5km walk from the starting point of the hike. Unfortunately, due to heavy mist, I decided it was best not to continue. However, despite this initial disappointment, I remain eager to return in the future, with hopes for clearer weather and a more enjoyable view.”

“I was truly captivated by the scenic beauty of Three Peaks Dolomites, a picturesque mountain area teeming with panoramic views of craggy cliffs and sweeping mountain valleys. The region offers numerous active pursuits such as hiking and mountain climbing. I found the marked routes throughout the area quite manageable to navigate, although the level of difficulty does somewhat depend on the chosen route and the season. One particular route I'd recommend is a delightful circuit along the red road, commencing from the parking area and leading you through individual mountain huts. This trail spans roughly 10 km and makes for a truly enriching experience.”

“I would highly recommend the hike at Three Peaks Dolomites. It's advisable to get there early, whether you're driving or using public transit. Starting the trail counterclockwise makes for a smoother experience initially, but do be prepared for it to get moderately challenging after reaching the first Refugio. Fortunately, there are a few bathroom facilities available, including one at the parking lot.”

“Three Peaks Dolomites is a truly remarkable destination that should not be overlooked when in the area. Initially, the idea of a toll to reach the Aurenzio refuge gave me pause, however, I soon came to appreciate it as a necessary measure to manage crowds and protect the natural environment. I would advise future visitors to dress in layers to accommodate the fluctuating temperatures. Some areas can become quite hot, enough to cause sunburn, while others may be a bit cool.”
