“I recently spent a delightful half-week in Säfsen, residing at 153 Övre Östanvik from Sunday to Thursday. The lodgings were generally satisfactory, though there were a few minor issues. One of the appliances was broken and some kitchen utensils were missing. Information regarding the sauna, fireplace, wifi, and procedures for key and ski equipment check-in and check-out was not readily available - I had to ask for these details at the ski slope. However, this didn't significantly impact my experience. Driving to the ski slope was not an inconvenience, and I found it quite handy to be able to drive right up to the lifts to drop off children and equipment before parking. For those who prefer to change in the car park, a loan sledge is available to transport bags. If you're planning a trip to Säfsen, here are a few things to consider: Remember to bring or purchase an ax if you plan on using the fireplace, along with other essentials like dish soap, paper towels, toilet paper, bed linen, towels, etc. The cabins are not stocked with these items and local shopping is limited, so it's wise to plan your purchases in advance and shop en route. The staff was generally friendly and helpful on a case-by-case basis. While the snow camp was not particularly impressive, it provided some fun for the kids with bouncing and a foam pool. The hillside lunch restaurant served satisfactory meals.”

“I've visited Säfsen multiple times with my little ones. It's a compact ski area, so there's no worry about getting lost, and their ski schools cater well to children. However, if you're an intermediate or skilled skier, the slopes may not meet your expectations. I'd recommend staying in the newer apartments on Vargspåret for the best experience - in a good snow year, you can enjoy both ski-in and ski-out. But if you're already an experienced skier, temper your expectations regarding the skiing experience.”
